This journey begins in the Cocora Valley, at the entrance to Los Nevados National Natural Park through the municipality of Salento, Quindío. The route offers breathtaking views of some of the region’s highest peaks, such as Nevado del Tolima, Paramillo del Quindío, and Cerro Chispas. It also includes traversing páramo grasslands, high Andean forests, and the beautiful basins of the Quindío and Cárdenas rivers, which are the two most important water sources in the area.

Itinerary / Daily Schedule
Day 1. 5:30 AM
The meeting will be at 5:30 am in Salento for breakfast, afterwards we will travel to the Cocora Valley area, then we will begin the hike through the forest and moorland that leads us to the viewpoints of the Nevado del Tolima and the La Playa farm where we will spend the night. Cocora Valley – Finca La Playa (19 km – 9 hrs. approx.)
Day 2. 4:30 AM
We’ll have breakfast very early, pack our backpacks, and begin our trek to the páramo (high-altitude moorland), the Paramillo del Quindío viewpoint, and the Cárdenas River basin. This area will offer us many breathtaking landscapes and challenges. After reaching our highest point at 4,300 meters above sea level, we’ll begin our descent to the town of Salento, where we’ll arrive in the afternoon. Finca La Playa – Finca La Argentina – Cocora Valley (20 km – 8 hrs. approx.)
