The Climate Change Trail is a beautiful route through moorlands and glacial moraines near the northern area of ​​Nevado Santa Isabel. This trail will lead us to an incredible area of ​​super-paramo and volcanic slabs, a product of the loss of the Conejeras glacier 2 years ago, which left us with a rocky and lunar landscape that tells the story of an extinct snow-capped mountain and the impact of climate change on the high Colombian mountains.

Itinerary / Daily Schedule

Only day

We will begin our three-hour drive in a 4×4 vehicle at 3:30 am from the meeting point to the Potosí trail, where we will have breakfast. Afterward, we will register at Los Nevados National Natural Park and continue by vehicle for 40 minutes to the Climate Change Trail parking area to begin our hike. The goal is to reach an altitude of almost 4,800 meters, where the large moraines of the extinct Conejeras Glacier are located. We will then return along the same route for lunch and begin our descent back to the city in the afternoon.
